I'm Claire! Nice to meet you ☺︎

I'm a product designer based in SF Bay Area, currently studying Design and Cognitive Science @ UC Davis, class of 27'.

I didn’t grow up dreaming of wireframes. I started by creating things because I enjoyed it, stuck with it because it brought smiles to others' faces, and found UX after realizing my favorite part was talking to users and seeing my work actually solve their problems. Helping people is what keeps me grounded in design. Also, it turns out this is a real job, which my parents were thrilled to learn.

Outside of class, I lead and teach UX in student design clubs, helping other designers grow their skills and build confidence. Teaching has also been one of the best ways I’ve refined my own skills. Explaining your design out loud is still the fastest way to realize what doesn’t make sense. Very humbling. Also incredibly effective.

My first real-world design: stickers
What began as a creative outlet in high school grew into a small sticker business, where custom client work taught me the joy of listening, iterating, and designing things people love.
2024
Finding UX through hands-on design
I started college undeclared and discovered UX through student passion projects, where it immediately felt like home due to combining my loves for psychology, art, and problem-solving.
2025
Shifting from learning UX to leading it
Leading and mentoring as Program Manager in Design Interactive sharpened my design thinking, alongside advanced frontend coursework and an branding internship that deepened my technical and visual skills.

Designing for impact & refining my craft
Through a summer product design internship and contract product roles, I designed for real-world impact while gaining cross-functional insight from developers and product managers

Retired flute kid, putting 6 years of music to work, just with less playing notes and more mashing buttons.

I LOVE skirts

Beauty is pain, and I’ll willingly wear skirts in 40-degree weather.
